Bet you wish your name was Elizabeth!

Cuz if your name is Elizabeth Deckard, you just won yourself a SLICE machine! Elizabeth placed her order during our "Any Way You Slice IT" sale in December and she purchased a JDRF stamp which gave her an additional entry into our drawing. :) Congratulations, Elizabeth! We're so happy for you and I just know you'll love slicing up a storm with your cute little Slice Machine. I love mine. It's so fun to use!

p.s. I'm working on a way to let you order just a JDRF stamp from our store with no shipping charges. We're having trouble making it work but as soon as it's available I'll let you know. I'll be putting up a Paypal widget on both this blog and my personal blog in the next day or two so you can order them directly here! Thanks for helping us support the JDRF. We're excited to see what 2009 will hold, aren't you? :)

Wrappin' IT Up...

Kelly L Project 24

We are in full on wedding mode here in the studio. I tried to keep my "personal" life separate from my "It Kit" life but alas, the wedding has taken over every spare moment of my time. Almost. Last night I took a little time to play with this month's kit. You see, I had an idea in my head and I wanted to get it scrapped before the thought left me. And with so many lists of things to be done for the wedding (YIKES! Only two weeks away!) I knew I'd better scrap it while I could still remember what it was I was wanting to do. :) My sister Tami did a little project with my niece Tori a few years back and she did 12 small presents (one per day for 12 days) leading up to Christmas. Tori LOVED it. And asks about it all the time. She had a blast. So this year Tami was talking about finding 12 small fun things and doing it again when I suggested she do 24 days and let some of them be days that Tori did something fun with grandma or me or a little Christmas Spirit project for someone else. Sounds like fun, huh? so last night I whipped up this cool little mini album for her to document her 24 days to Christmas. Each day she'll pull a strip of paper from her gift bag and she'll do that day's project and take a picture for her album. :) It's got all sorts of little ideas from slice and bake cookies to iTunes songs for the holidays to delivering candy canes to elderly neighbors etc. I think she'll enjoy it and it'll keep her anticipating all through the month of December and in my opinion, the anticipation of it all is most of the fun.

If you're not an It Kit subscriber you should most definitely consider picking up this month's kit. It's got over $73 worth of scrapping goodness for only $38.95. Dang. You can't beat that. But I don't have a lot of extra paper so I've only got a few additional kits that I can ship with paper. I have more of everything else and I'll be selling paperless kits for $35. This kit even has a FULL SET of alphabet stamps in it! And they're large stamps... not some dinky little set. The sheet is bigger than 6x8. Retail value for the stamps alone is $19.99. Now I'm sounding like an infomercial! LOL! :) Oh well, it really is a heck of a deal. Happy shopping. And happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. We'll be celebrating with wedding cake here in Nebraska! WOO HOO!

very artsy fartsy...

Denise collagecanvas

don't you think? Lately I've been in a artsy mood. Not really a scrapbooking mood. although the things I make are made with scrapbook-ery stuff and sometimes I even put a picture on them. :) So, November's kit is all about good scrapbook accessories which can be very art inspiring if you choose to use them that way. Why not alter a canvas for a special piece to hang in "just the right spot" or perhaps design a killer 10x10 layout and attach it to the canvas to hang in it's proper place of honor. The piece above is from our talented It Girl, Denise Levy. Love the way she crammed so many great things into a small space. It's perfect, don't you think? I love the supplies from Waste Not Paper. If we had a gift store around here that carried their full line I am convinced that my visa card would be seriously tired from use. Luckily, I live in Nebraska so that's not a real problem.

I used the picture from the front of Katie & Garrett's wedding invitation to make a canvas piece for the gallery this month. I'm in love with that picture. Becky Novacek is so talented and she really brings out the best in these two. The wedding is SIX WEEKS from tomorrow. I'm so excited to welcome Garrett to the family "officially". The months have flown by and I can't believe it's almost here! Yeah!

So anyway, get ready to get all artsy fartsy with us this month. Your Play IT Forward kit will be shipping to arrive on/about the first of November... and that's not very far away! YIKES! Happy Thursday... I'm off to watch Grey's and dream about scrap art. Join me. won't you?

p.s. did you see the FULL SET lower case alpha in this month's kit? Dang. We love IT and I'm hoping you will too. Rumor has it that there might be a matching set of uppers in December... Yeah. You know you want IT... and you'll have IT... if you get IT!

Rockin' IT...

Becky smile

I have the funnest job. Seriously. And I get to work with some of the most amazing people. I am SO proud of the work our Design Team puts out each and every month and I especially love the way they make the kit from the previous month work into the kit that's new. It's exactly the way IT is supposed to work. And I love it. This month I'm super excited to have my good friend and super talented scrapper and photographer, Becky Novacek rockin' the IT kit. And boy, did she rock it. I love her slightly shabby, full of detail and always fun work. It never fails to make me smile when I see her work. I think you'll agree when you click on the "check IT out"section of the site this month. All the IT Girls did amazing things with this kit and several of them used the phrase "best kit ever" when they sent their layouts this month. I love to hear that. I've really enjoyed working with this one. It's bright but usable. Sometimes when papers are "too" colorful, they get hard to work with but not these. They're perfect for a wide variety of styles- form shabby to sophisticated and everything in between. I'm also in love with the new ink pads from AAutumn Leaves. If you haven't tried them yet, you really should. They're amazing! We'll have several additional colors available in the bits and piecessection of the website by Tuesday. There will also be a few Fancy Pants chipboard sets available for purchase on Tuesday. They're SO cute and so versatile. I snuck a few pieces from a set into each of the It Girls designer kits this month and they must have liked them because they all used them. :) They're a nice dimensional additional to a layout or card and they come in the CUTEST sliding box that would make a great altered project. In all my free time I may have to whip something up. Um, yeah. I have SO much free time... I did manage to alter a frame into a place for us to hang our keys. I was so irritated with the keys all over the counter in the kitchen and this frame jumped in my cart at Marshall's a couple of Wednesdays ago. I love Marshall's. Don't you? I pop in every Wednesday after bagels to check out what's new and it's rare that I leave empty handed. Anyway, I think this turned out kind of fun. It's hanging in my laundry room which will be all decorated up here soon. I'm waiting on my vinyl pieces  form Uppercase Living. It's going to be sweet. :) can't wait to show it to you!

CorrespondIT...

Card stamp kit008 (Large)

Card stamp kit014 (Large)

Card stamp kit017 (Large)

like "correspondent" only spelled better! :) I love a quick card. But I struggle with the "quick" part. So a while back I was thinking that maybe I could get better at the "quick" part if I had some fun sayings that were ready to stamp and become part of my card. That's how this set of stamps was born. :) They're fun sayings... small enough to work in a variety of places on a card... and they're sure to make things come together more quickly. They're available on the It Kit Studio site for $8.50... OR you can buy them in one of three kits full of fun papers, cardstock and accessories for $12.25 -$14.50. The price of the kit is 35% below the retail value! What a fun way to keep in touch. If you didn't get our email yesterday, I'll give you a code for FREE SHIPPING when you add anything from the store to your It Kit Studio subscription or when you order a new subscription! :) Just use the code FREE2ME! The code is only good through Thursday though... Kits ship on Friday and Saturday. Get it? Got it? GOOD!

and so it goes...

2008july003 (Large)

a new studio, a new warehousing space, a new routine. And actually, it went pretty quickly in spite of all the little differences in the new location. I actually think it's going to be a great spot to function in once we get it all settled. And that? Well, that's going to take a little while... but that's ok. We'll make it work until then. I love this month's kit. It's full of soft blues and creams and it's just so perfect for so many kinds of photos and projects. I could literally sit and scrap for hours with this kit and not tire of it. Normally by the time we ship a kit I am done with it. I've seen it for months, scrapped with it and handled it a billion times and I'm ready to move on. But this month I'm ready to stay a little longer and enjoy it. :) We've almost got the office all settled and it's a happy spot. I've spent the morning on the phone with suppliers for September trying to figure out how you make promises to ship stuff and then tell me you're too busy?!?!? YIKES! Can't imagine telling all of you that I was a little too busy to ship your kits this month but just hang on and we'll get to it eventually... really? UGH! So, we'll keep calling trying to get IT all here so we'll have it in time to show you some great things you can create with IT. The one part of this fun adventure that isn't so fun... but in the end, IT's worth IT. :) Hope you're having a terrific Tuesday. They just came and picked up the pile of boxes from me so soon you should have happy mail on your doorstep! I can't wait to see what you'll create with IT.

wouldn't IT be nice?!?!?

Kelly L-here now

why yes, yes it would... and IT is! We are semi-moved into the new space. There's a LOT of organization and work to be done but IT is all here except for the office furniture which arrives on Thursday. So until then, I'm computing from the kitchen table and overlooking the lake. Not a bad view but I'm anxious to have my studio all set up again. It's hard to be creative in the middle of the family life fast lane. So tomorrow we bagel and then have dinner to say "see you later" to Holly. I don't say goodbye. I don't believe in it. She's coming back- I'm calling it an extended vacation. So there. Thursday is Katie's birthday and furniture moving day. Ugh. Lots to do before then. Thursday night there's a midnight showing of Mama Mia. I am SO tempted to go. But Friday morning my flight to CHA leaves at 6:30am... and the airport is about 30 minutes from my house which means I need to leave here by 5am. If I were to act rashly and go to the movie I'd get home about 2:30am. Hmmmmmmmm... just thinking out loud... that might not be such a grand idea. But I REALLY want to see that movie. Maybe on Sunday after the bridal fair that Katie and I are going to. Dang. The wedding is only about 4 months and 13 days away and we've got a heck of a to do list going. I'm thinking we need to get the big move finished up and get into wedding mode. I probably won't be back here to post until after CHA... but I'll try to come home with a firm plan for the rest of the year. I get excited just thinking about IT! :)

p.s. the layout? from ME! can you believe it?!?!? In the midst of the move and everything else I took a sanity break and headed over to my friend Shari's house for a crop. It's been a LONG time since I've done that but I had a great time. I was surprised at how easy it was to get packed up when I took out 2 or three kits and grabbed my trimmer and adhesive and headed out the door. Aren't kits wonderful?!?!? :)
