yep. That's right! A pear in a bagel tree. :) The Very Bagel Christmas is tonight. I'm so excited to sit and hang out with some of my favorite people in the whole world and squeeze a little more "Christmas" out of the season. We're doing a "homespun" Christmas exchange this year and in true bagel fashion most of us were still putting on finishing touches today. We've only known about it since October. :) I'm so excited to see what everyone came up with. A few months ago, I spied a pear pin cushion pattern from Heather Bailey and I was totally taken with it and so I ordered one. I'm not sure I really had any intention of actually making one but I ordered the pattern in true Kelly style. Over the weekend I decided that I for sure wanted to make them for the girls (mind you, I have supplies for three other projects in my studio!) and so I sat down to make one and see if I could handle making 6 of them. There are plenty of things in this world that I could make once but there are not that many that I can fathom making 6 of. And really, I needed 7 since I had to have one to keep. And then there's my sis who dutifully shopped with me and helped me pick out fabrics, she surely needs one too. And so, I made 9. Yep. Nine. They looked so cute all sitting together last night on the table. They weren't hard to make... just a bit tedious since they're small and have curvy seams. But I think they turned out pretty cute and who wouldn't want a tasty treat sitting on their desk to keep track of stray pins and needles? :) I hope they like them. By the time this posts, I'll be snacking on cheese fondue and enjoying some of the best conversation of the year. Of this I am sure. Happy Monday! I'm off to "put on my face" and stop by to pick up Miley. Yeah! let the festivities begin!
p.s. I set this to post last night... but apparently it didn't work... so here you have it now. :)
