That's a wrap! I can't believe the end of September is here. 30 days ago, I started this journey to see if I could sew something every day and while I didn't quite make the actual SEWING every day part work, I did pretty much do something sewing related every day so I'm going to call this a success. It's been a LOT of fun and I've gotten a ton of things done. And while I don't think I'll keep up with the technical "keeping track" part of my sew on september challenge, I do think I'll keep on going to the studio every day and spending time doing something creative. October's going to be a month of sewing for baby. Katie and I were talking yesterday and we're anxious to get going on projects for Sutton's room and I know there are a couple of other baby related projects I want to get done soon so I think that'll be my focus. I'll keep you updated with hopefully some cute projects and maybe a link or two here and there. Sound like a plan?
This morning, I finished up my pincushion for the Scrappy Pincushion Swap. I told you yesterday that I was keeping it simple and I did. It's super practical though and I love that it's substantial and filled mostly with emery powder so it'll sharpen up pins and needles that are stuck into it. I'll package it up with some "extras" today and get it in the mail. It doesn't have too far to go so I think by the weekend or Monday it'll be at it's new home. I hope she'll like it. The tutorial I used makes TWO pincushions which worked out well for the girl who loves the "one for you, one for me" concept. As soon as I'm done typing this post I'm going to finish up the second one and sit it by my machine. YAY!
I hope you've enjoyed this month of sewing day by day. I guess I'll leave you with one last tip of the day: Set out to do SOMEthing creative every day. It's doesn't have to be huge or overwhelming. It could be something as simple as bookmarking a couple of inspiring pictures in Tumblr or reading a decorating magazine or sorting through your stash of crafty goodness. The point is- DO it. Don't sit around wishing you had time, make time. Don't sit around wishing that you had something pretty to look at here or there in your home, get going. You can do this. It's SO worth it. Go forth and create. You'll be glad you did. I'm SURE of it!
p.s. the Passion art piece was available at Curious Sofa... maybe she'll get more in stock? I hope so!
