and doing a little of this and a little of that... and making a list of all I need to do before Saturday. My friend Debra and I are hosting a brunch for our new Pastor's wife, Diane, on Saturday morning and I've got a big long mental list of things I'd like to get done before then and I think I should write it out so I'll be able to sleep tonight. Do you do that? It seems that the older I get the more I "need" my list to feel at peace. I don't need the list to be "accomplish-able" (new word. like it?) but I do need it do be exhaustive and I need it to have at least a few things on it that I can complete and cross off. I make my lists with little boxes in front of the items. I'm sure that says SOMEthing about me... I'm just not sure what. Oh well. My pointless point is this. I'll make my list. I'll check a few things off and the rest I'll move to a new list for next week. :) I don't have to accomplish it all- just a few things will be fine. I've gotten over the need to have everything "perfect" when people come over. I just need it to be fairly clean and uncluttered. The rest? bonus. My wood floors aren't going to be in. My guests will have to deal with my lovely but poorly stretched carpet. But oh well, at least if something gets spilled on it I won't have to worry about it since it's out of here soon. See? A silver lining in every cloud!
I spent a bit of time in my studio over the last couple of days finishing up bee blocks and a project for Morgan (Chase's girl). It felt good to sit and sew. I've discovered that I'm a much happier "sewer" during the day hours. It's weird to me. I always loved to scrap late in the night. I'm not sure if it's the activity that's changed my preference or if it's just that I'm changing. Random, I know. Moving on.
So Thursday I will clean and get ready for company and Friday I'm going to SEW ALL DAY with Katie! :) I am SO (or should I say SEW) excited to spend the day hanging out and sewing. It'll be a good time. Then, I'll quickly "re-clean" what I'm sure we'll mess up and enjoy getting everything "just so" for Saturday. It's going to be a busy few days but I'm excited about them... Talk to you soon!
