I've moved a LOT in my 44 years of life. Seriously. A LOT. In just 25 years of marriage I've had 19 addresses. Yes, I said 19. Apparently the boy and I must not mind moving too much. ;) So, if you want moving advice, I am your girl. Really. I am. And my number one piece of advice? Pack like you're moving across the country even if you're moving down the street. I mean it. Don't tell yourself that you can just "stick that in the back of the car". You'll be moving FOR.EVER. Why I didn't follow my advice this time is beyond me. Well, really, it's not beyond me. Things just got out of order. With closing delayed so many times, I kept pushing off the packing because I actually use most of my house and I didn't want it sitting in boxes. And there's the "low iron, I'm so tired I could just go to sleep standing up" issue that helped me decide to move things a little at a time. And so, I'm packing up a room at a time and moving it over. It's not ideal. I often find myself wishing that I had this or that and remembering it that it's at the other place. Fun. But, I do love this new space. It's smaller and cozier and it's just "enough". That feels good. It's also amazing to be able to drive to almost anywhere I usually go in about 10 minutes. LOVE that. We'll keep on packing and moving and know that soon it'll be all the stuff will be in place and it'll all be worth it. Right? Right. In the mean time, I've managed to set up the studio just enough to knock out a few projects that need to go out the door including this paper pieced block with FIFTY SIX pieces in it. I did two of them for the Inspire.Do.Good.Stitches bee group over at Flickr.
They're a pretty block- just a bit tedious. :)
And now, I'll get back to a little bit of "me" sewing and pick up my Flea Market Fancy blocks again. I can't wait to add to my collection. Let's talk again soon. I'll bring pictures. :)
